Several heating and control components are available from which to design and engineer the Electric Heat Kit best suited for each application. The component selection is based on criteria such as:
Item being heat traced - physical size and shape
Temperature to be maintained - is 'heat up' required along with maintaining process temperature or just for freeze protection
Area classification - Hazardous or non-hazardous
Allowable temperature variation - is process temperature critical
Voltage available
